my approach

My heart lies with the shame-filled and brokenhearted, the busy professional who is wearing too many hats and unsure where to set boundaries, the family that is hurting, and those wounded by religion or the opinions of others. I have a primary focus on working with those who are part of both the LGBTQ+ and faith-based communities, individuals navigating sexual, betrayal, and other traumas, blended families, and the uncertain client who have found themselves questioning who they are and who they want to be.

I am an Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) trained practitioner, providing support for clients who have experienced significant trauma.

I am an Licensed Clinical Social Worker, License #106434. I received my Bachelors in Social Welfare from The University of Kansas and my Masters in Social Work from The University of Houston. While there, I was a Fellow in Advanced Mental Health Practices and Integrated Healthcare. As a LCSW, my commitment to my clients is so much more than what happens in our session. I desire to empower you with community resources, access to a wide range of support, and a commitment to providing a space free of judgment or imposing beliefs.

The road to healing is not linear and is not done well in isolation. My deepest desire as a psychotherapist is to help you discover what you value, make sense of who the world says you need to be, and create an environment where you come to believe that you're never a sum of the worst things that have been done to, or by you. You, reading this right now, are so worth loving, and I can not wait to meet you.

Trauma + Sexuality Therapy

As a clinically trained Sex Therapy Associate certified through the Institute for Sexual Wholeness and the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists, I blend science-backed therapy with a faith-based perspective ( as my clients desire) to help individuals and couples heal from sexual shame, trauma, dysfunction, and intimacy struggles. My approach welcomes Christians and non-religious clients with no judgment, no awkward purity lectures—just real conversations about reclaiming joy, connection, and wholeness in your sex life while honoring your values. Whether you're navigating low desire, painful intimacy, past trauma, or simply want to strengthen your connection, I provide a safe, compassionate space to work through it all.

Faith, Sexuality, and Gender

I’m genuinely honored (and honestly, so stoked) to be included in a trusted network of therapists recommended by the Center for Faith, Sexuality & Gender, a nonprofit organization committed to equipping churches, faith communities, and individuals to navigate the complex intersections of faith, sexuality, and gender with integrity and compassion. Their work provides resources, training, and guidance to help communities have honest, respectful conversations while creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ and same-sex attracted individuals.

Being part of this network means I affirm a clear set of principles:

I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to explore sexuality, gender identity, and faith.

I honor clients’ faith convictions as they pursue congruence in their lives.

I do not practice or endorse conversion therapy or sexual orientation change efforts in any form.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Neuropsychotherapist, and  Sex Therapy Associate under Consultation, credentialed by the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists, I take seriously the work that I do to provide a space where all are welcome to make meaning of who, and Whose, they are, including, and not limited to, their sexual selves.

As one of the few Texas-based providers entrusted with this work, I’m proud to stand alongside the Center in supporting individuals who are navigating these deeply personal and sometimes trauma-filled intersections, helping them show up authentically, be taken seriously, and build lives that align with both their identities and their faith. For more information on the CFSG, I invite you to visit their website, follow their socials, and equip yourself with their resources as you, your congregation, or loved one navigates the nuances of our sexual selves.

As always, may I remind you that you cannot throw stones while washing feet.

About my Credentials

Sex therapy, as taught through the Institute for Sexual Wholeness (ISW) and the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists (ABCST), integrates clinical expertise with Christian faith-based principles to address sexual concerns within a framework of spiritual and psychological healing.

Institute for Sexual Wholeness (ISW)

The ISW is a specialized training institute that equips professionals with a biblically grounded, clinically rigorous education in sex therapy. It approaches sexuality as an integral part of human identity, emphasizing wholeness—a state where body, mind, and spirit align in healthy sexual expression. Key principles of ISW’s approach include:

  • A holistic view of sexuality that incorporates biological, psychological, relational, and spiritual factors.

  • A commitment to ethical, research-based therapeutic practices within a Christian worldview.

  • Training in addressing sexual dysfunctions, trauma, relational struggles, and intimacy concerns from both scientific and faith-based perspectives.

ISW’s certification process ensures that therapists are not only competent in clinical interventions but also adept at integrating spiritual principles into their therapeutic work.

American Board of Christian Sex Therapists (ABCST)

ABCST is a credentialing organization that upholds high standards for Christian sex therapists. Therapists who are board-certified through ABCST must demonstrate:

  • Extensive training in clinical sex therapy, including coursework in sexual dysfunction, intimacy issues, and relational dynamics.

  • A deep understanding of theological perspectives on sexuality, ensuring that therapy aligns with Christian ethics.

  • An ability to work with individuals and couples to heal from sexual trauma, shame, dysfunction, and marital struggles in a way that honors both faith and science.

  • Commitment to compassionate, evidence-based, and biblically sound care for clients navigating sexual issues.

Core Themes in this approach to Sex Therapy:

  1. Healing from Sexual Shame & Trauma – Helping individuals overcome past wounds and develop a healthy sexual identity.

  2. Restoring Marital Intimacy – Strengthening connection, communication, and physical intimacy within committed relationships.

  3. Understanding God’s Design for Sexuality – Teaching clients to integrate faith and sexuality without guilt or confusion.

  4. Addressing Sexual Dysfunction – Providing evidence-based interventions for physical and psychological sexual concerns.

This approach to sex therapy is designed to help individuals and couples reclaim joy, freedom, and connection in their sexual lives, while honoring their faith and values.
